“We’ve been anxious to work together before we drop dead”. Pete Townshend said at a conference in London where he was accompanied by Roger Daltrey. “I don’t know how many more years I’ll be able to sing this music”, added Daltrey. The result is a 36-date Quadrophenia Tour which the band will embark on this fall. The highlighting feature of the tour is the band’s signature 1973 rock opera style performed in its entirety. This tour is band’s first in the last four years where its North American leg will kick off on November 1, 2012, going through to February 26, 2013. Pino Palladino, Simon Townshend, Chris Stainton, Loren Gold and Frank Simes will be forming the lineup for this tour with Townshend and Daltrey. Check out tickets to The Who in California:

This Rock and Roll Hall of Famer band plans to touch all corners of the country, stopping by every major city including Pittsburgh, Washington, Detroit, Nashville and Boston with Sunrise, FL as its kick off venue and a wrap-up performance in Providence, RI. Ticket sales for the upcoming tour are surpassing all the previous performances of the band and the anticipation is higher than Quadrophenia tours of 1996 and 1997. July 20, 2012 sees tickets selling in hundreds which shows how anxious fans are where its months before the actual event.
The Who is also scheduled to perform at the finale of Olympics before they head out for the tour. In the conference, Townshend also gave some updates on his upcoming memoir which is due this fall as well, giving his fans even more to look forward to.
