The year 2009 was both an exciting time and a challenging time for event tickets in Southern California. There were numerous top name concerts such as U2, No Doubt, Britney Spears and many more. It was also an exciting time for sports as the Lakers won the NBA championship and both the Angels and the Dodgers were in the hunt in October. However, the economy was in a rut most of the year and many folks were unable to attend some of the events they really desired.
With 2010 just around the corner, it is time to start looking forward at some of the key concerts and sporting events to hit California. Let’s start with concerts:
Several top name tours will be hitting several cities in all of California including; Black Eyed Peas, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Michael Buble, Paul McCartney, John Mayer & U2 to name a few. Tickets to these concerts will surely go fast! In order to handle the additional volume of tickets, we at CitrusTickets.com have set up some additional sites for each of these tours. John Mayer Tickets provides John Mayer tour & ticket information, venue information and offers a variety of news and insight related to the John Mayer tour. We also expect the Lakers and the Ducks respectively to be involved in the playoffs this year. Anaheim Ducks Tickets for the playoff run…
March 25, 2009 by Doug · Leave a Comment
There are still awesome Anaheim Ducks tickets left at the Honda center for the final 4 regular season home games. Watch the Ducks make their final push at the playoffs!
The past week or so has really rejuvenated Ducks fans! The Ducks have won 4 straight games. 2 of which were against the Nashville Predators, to move into a tied for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with none other than the Nashville Predators.
The Mighty Ducks will play the Edmonton Oilers, Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks and the Dallas Stars. These are some tough final home games to have! The Ducks will have to take at least 3 of these games cleanly in order to better position themselves for the playoffs.
Don’t sit at home watching these games on TV, get off your butt and head over to the Honda Center for some live NHL hockey action. Citrustickets.com is an official provider of Anaheim Ducks tickets and we still have great seats left for all of these games. Here are the links to the specific games:
Anaheim Ducks vs. Edmonton Oilers on March 27th
Anaheim Ducks vs. Colorado Avalanche on March 29th
Anaheim Ducks vs. San Jose Sharks on April 5th
Anaheim Ducks vs. Dallas Stars on April 10th
Remember to use the discount code: orange for Anaheim Ducks tickets for additional savings at checkout. Go Ducks!
NHL Playoffs: Anaheim Ducks or LA Kings…
March 1, 2009 by Doug · Leave a Comment
The NHL playoffs are approaching fast! Now is the time we should be wondering if one of the 2 NHL teams located in Southern California have what it takes to make it to the NHL playoffs!
Through 64 games, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks have 67 points and find themselves tied for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Ducks have 18 games left with 8 of those games against the top 7 teams in the Western Conference (San Jose Sharks, Detroit Red Wings, Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks, Vancouver Canucks, Columbus Blue Jackets & Edmonton Oilers).
The Anaheim Ducks play 10 of their final 18 games at the Honda Center, so if you are interested in watching them live, you should buy Anaheim Ducks tickets today!
On the other hand, through 61 games, the Los Angeles Kings have just have 61 points and find themselves in 13th place in the NHL’s Western Conference. The Kings have 21 games left with 10 of those games against the same top 7 teams in the Western Conference mentioned above.
The LA Kings play only 7 of their final 21 games at the Staples Center, so if you are interested in watching them live, you should buy LA Kings tickets today!
Overall, the likelihood of both of Southern California’s NHL teams making the NHL Playoffs is very low, I would say there is basically no chance of this happening. Of the 2 teams the Ducks have an outside shot to grab the number 8 spot. The Kings have just dug themselves too big of a hole and have a tougher schedule on the road from here on.
My final thoughts are the neither team makes the NHL playoffs this year and Southern California DOES NOT send a team to the race to the Stanley Cup! Better luck next year!
Anaheim Ducks Freeze Ticket Prices…
February 25, 2009 by Doug · Leave a Comment
In an effort to keep games affordable in an economic crisis, the Ducks announced Monday a freeze in ticket prices for the 2009-2010 season. Is this good news for fans? We do hope so.
Season and single-game tickets, as well as half-season, group seats and mini-plans will remain the same, according to the club.
Season tickets for the 2009-10 season start at $10.50, while individual tickets begin at $18.50. There is a $1.50 arena facility fee per ticket.
If the Ducks make the playoffs this season, ticket prices for the first round will remain the same as last season. Prices for beyond the first round have not been decided.
The Ducks, like other pro teams, are reaching out to a fan base that is dealing with less discretionary income.
Earlier this month the Los Angeles Kings also announced a freeze on season-ticket prices for next season.
The freeze comes after two consecutive years of increases.
The Ducks raised prices for this season by an average of 6.6 percent for season seats and 7.2 percent for single-game seats. Prices for the 2007-08 season rose by an average of 7.9 percent for season seats and 1.1 percent on individual seats. That had been the first such increase in three years.
The club capped season ticket sales at 15,000 in August, but support has since waned slightly.
The Ducks saw their 78-game sellout streak snapped on Oct.15. Only 12 of their 31 home games have sold out, although 10 other home games have sold at least 16,800 tickets. Capacity at Honda Center is 17,174.
We here at Citrustickets.com have seen a significant drop off in Ducks Tickets since January 2009, even when the Ducks’ average ticket price of $43.50 is below the NHL average of $49.66, according to Team Marketing Report.
