As expected, the Manny Ramirez signing has created HUGE demand for LA Dodgers tickets almost immediately! This comes as no surprise as the Dodgers are not a very exciting team to watch without the unpredictable Manny around.
Just a few weeks back, you could have purchased LA Dodgers Opening day tickets for around $30 each! Today, those same seats are going to cost about $60 each and as of 11am on 3/14, there are only about 10 tickets left at that price! So essentially, Manny Ramirez has caused Dodgers opening day tickets to double in price in just a few short weeks. With about a full month to go until game time, who knows where prices may end up!
I can honestly say that this increase in Dodger Tickets prices is clearly justifiable. Manny fills seats!

Dodgers seeking Ramirez…still!

After the way Manny Ramirez acted in his last days in Boston, you wonder why anyone would offer him a contract. I mean I vividly remember watching the Sox and Manny was sitting in the dugout holding a sign “I’m going to Green Bay for Brett Favre straight up!”. What kind of behavior is that for a multi-million dollar investment? 
believe me folks…that was just the tip of the iceberg for the way Manny acted throughout his career in Boston.
So with that said, the desperate Los Angeles Dodgers are still the ONLY MLB team pursuing Manny and made a 4th bid for Manny Ramírez yesterday, this time offering the slugger a $25 million, one-year contract with a $20 million player option for 2010.
The player option came at the request of Ramírez’s agent, Scott Boras, according to a person with knowledge of the negotiations who requested anonymity because talks are ongoing.
The latest proposal is similar in dollars to Los Angeles’s first offer to the free agent left fielder this offseason, a $45 million, two-year deal with a buyout or a club option that was ignored by Boras and later withdrawn by the team.
This offer, however, gives Ramírez a chance to determine his fate in 2010. He could stay with the Dodgers for a $20 million salary or decline the option and become a free agent again.
Dodgers spokesman Josh Rawitch confirmed that general manager Ned Colletti, owner Frank McCourt, and Boras met in Los Angeles and an offer was made, but Rawitch declined to provide further details.
Ramírez rejected a one-year, $25 million proposal from Los Angeles three weeks ago. The team also offered him salary arbitration in December, but Ramírez turned that down, too.
