He rode Greyhounds and worked for meals all over the United States, and he honed his comedic skills in time to appear on seven episodes of Star Search, where he nearly won the big prize. His success there led to recurring roles on ‘The New Redd Foxx Show’ and ‘Different World.’

- Sinbad’s career actually begin on Star Search, with host Ed McMahon, back in the 1980′s. Sinbad won his round against fellow comedian Dennis Miller.
- Sinbad has been performing for over 20 years
- Sinbad’s first HBO special, ‘Brain Damaged’ (1991), was one of HBO’s most successful ‘Comedy Hour’ presentations
- Sinbad served in the US Air Force as a boom operator aboard KC-135 Stratotankers.
