The time has finally come! Southern California will officially be involved in the 2009 NBA playoffs. This is because the LA Lakers clinched a playoff spot with their comfortable win over the San Antonio Spurs last night in San Antonio! This was great win to clinch a playoff birth as the San Antonio Spurs are the number 2 seed in the West and many believe is the only team standing in the Lakers way of another trip to the NBA Championship.

After what Kobe Bryant just achieved in yesterday’s lakers win over the Timberwolves, how can you not want to watch this guy play live?
Without question, the Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most successful NBA franchises of all-time. They are second in NBA Championship titles (only 3 behind the Boston Celtics) and the best all-time winning percentage for an NBA team. With those types of results there had to be some talented players over the years! There were big name stars such as; Jerry West, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy and Elgin Baylor to name a few. And out of all of these stars, our man Kobe Bryant, at the age of 30, just moved past Elgin Baylor to take the number 3 spot alone on the all-time lakers scoring list. At this pace, he could catch the leader Jerry West next year!
